“Death Note: Light Up the New World” is probably one of the most anticipated live-action manga adaptations this year, especially since it’s the continuation of an insanely popular series 10 years ago. The first story, L of Justice, focuses on Sohata, a young man who bears a striking resemblance to the original L, while the second, Kira's Successor, revolves around Sohata's childhood. Each story covers two different characters, who are both successors to L and Kira respectively. The pair don’t hit it off and, in fact, rarely get along for most of the film.
